History
Established initially in 1998, The Independent Adviser Corporation  launched The-Adviser.com, a popular web site that offers buy-side investment research and personal finance news to consumers. The-Adviser.com received numerous awards and accolades and individual investors began clamoring for additional services. The-Adviser.com now operates a national network of independent and objective financial advisers and connects them with individuals.  

About the Founder

• Michael D. Porcelain, CPA, MS, MBA  - Michael is currently the President of the Company and is also the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("AICPA"), a member of the Personal Financial Planning Division of the AICPA, a member of the New York State Society of CPA's and is a lifetime member of the American Association of Individual Investors. Michael was formally a Manager with the Financial Advisory Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.  Prior to that, he worked for KPMG Peat Marwick LLP and IBM. He has been a professional money manager since 1987, has hosted several radio talk shows and is routinely quoted in the press. He is a fee-based money manager in New York.
