Overview

PFS provides fee-only comprehensive financial management services to successful executives and professionals, affluent families, and private business owners thinking of retirement.  We develop a complete financial plan—with tax, insurance and investment strategies based on your specific goals and objectives before offering advice or managing any money.  Our specialties are retirement planning and wealth management.  We simplify lives through the art of planning prudent, scientific solutions for futures simply too important for chance.

Paul Byron Hill is President of PFS.  Paul is a Certified Financial Planner (1982), and has been admitted from its inception to the Registry of CFP Licensed Practitioners by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (1987).   He also has a Master of Science in Financial Planning (1997) from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado, and is the first planner in upstate New York to hold that degree.  Paul has actively practiced financial planning for nearly two decades, and was among the first designated planners in upstate New York.  Prior to entering private practice in 1984 and subsequently forming PFS advisory firm in 1993, he gained experience in marketing and management positions with several large financial services companies.  Paul is a long-time member of the the Financial Planning Association (formerly the Institute of Certified Financial Planners), and is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professional and the National Society of Accountants.  He has been named in Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.  Paul expects to  join the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors in January 2001.

Available Services
Retirement Planning Services
Specializing in retirement planning, helping you identify and prioritize your important lifestyle and financial goals.  Consider strategies for savings, debt, investments, taxes, insurance, company benefits, stock options, wills and trusts.  Design a comprehensive plan integrating these various strategies for your unique situation.  Then guide you in implementing those strategies necessary for successfully fulfilling your objectives.
Asset Management
Your investment portfolio and retirement accounts are coordinated with your real estate holdings, any trust accounts and company benefit programs.  We develop an asset allocation plan or a market-structured portfolio based on a prudent investment policy using professional financial strategies, to keep the flow of income consistent throughout your retirement years or to provide a family legacy.  And we conveniently and cost-effectively implement, manage and monitor your portfolio over the years.  Includes tax-managed separate accounts
Tax Planning
Planning strategies to best arrange your income, utilize company benefit programs, select investments, structure managed accounts, coordinate ownership of assets among family members—all legal techniques to help reduce or defer the tax bite the affects savings for financial goals or that impact lifestyle after retirement.  Includes annual tax preparation and representation before the IRS if necessary.  Appropriate estate planning techniques are considered.
Wealth Management
A financial plan is constantly evolving, reflecting the inevitable changes that affect all of our personal and financial lives.  An affordable alternative to corporate trustee arrangements that leaves you in control—all aspects of your portfolio, retirement plans and real estate are organized into one coordinated arrangement, and then managed for you to completion as you planned.  This is a major help for many to enjoy their successful lifestyles without the need to worry about all the details, especially as they get older, or if children cannot be relied upon due to careers or family issues.  Often combined with Legacy Planning.
